Andrew Gordon, D.V.M.
Dr. Gordon was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He received his B.S. in Animal Science and D.V.M. degree from Mississippi State University. He founded Acredale Animal Hospital in 1986 with his wife, Stacey, who worked as Receptionist/Hospital Administrator and his newborn daughter as head of Public Relations. His daughter, Carley is now a television news reporter in Nashville, Tennessee and his son, Aubrey is currently attending law school in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Gordon has two bullmastiffs, Bubbles and Ed. He is very close to joining the PGA as soon as he knocks 30 strokes off his game. He enjoys motorcycle trips and is currently fulfilling his life-long dream of farming, raising wild Canadian Geese, mosquitoes and turkey buzzards. Dr. Gordon is a very funny guy but no one knows it.
Robert Evans, D.V.M.
Dr. Evans was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and moved to Atlanta, Georgia when he was 12 years old. He received both his B.S. and D.V.M. Degrees from the University of Georgia. He began practicing at Acredale in 1987. His professional interests include orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries. Dr. Evans and his wife, Betsy live in Kempsville and have three pets, Rex, a pomeranian, Dolly, a wheaton terrier, and Milo, the cat. His son, Harry is a certified flight instructor for Tidewater Flight Center in Chesapeake. Dr. Evans' personal interests include traveling, skiing, golfing, and baseball (Go Braves!).
Alexandra DeLorenzo, D.V.M.
Dr. Alex is a native New Yorker, born on Long Island and raised in Suffern, New York. She received her B.S. in Animal Science at Cornell University, where she met her future husband, Dr. Kenny. After spending three years in a graduate program at Cornell, Dr. Alex spent four great years living in Auburn, Alabama, receiving her D.V.M. Degree from Tuskegee University in 1997. In August of 1997, Dr. Alex began her career at Acredale. She loves being a veterinarian, especially the growing bond between humans and animals. Drs. Alex and Kenny live in Great Bridge and have three active sons: Sammy, Noah and Nate. The boys seem more interested in zoo animals, wildlife, and bugs than they do in dogs and cats. The DeLorenzo family also includes Sadie, the golden retriever, Mini Mew, the Siamese cat, Roxie, the crested gecko and multiple fish. Dr. Alex is active in the local Cornell alumni affairs, and enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, traveling and tennis (doubles only!).
Kenneth DeLorenzo, D.V.M.
Dr. Kenny was born and raised in New Jersey and grew up with horses, goats, pigs and mutiple dogs and cats. He decided to become a veterinarian at the age of four, and never looked back. He received his B.S. in Animal Science, Economics, and his D.V.M. degree all from Cornell University. He completed an internship in Emergency and Critical Care in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and spent the first 10 years of his career working in emergency medicine. Eight years ago, he transitioned to daytime practice so he could have more quality time with his family. While he still enjoys many aspects of general veterinary medicine, he has developed a strong interest in veterinary dentistry. Dr. Kenny's interests include traveling, fishing, gardening, energy conservation, and solving the world's issues as he is mowing the lawn.
Chris Imrich, D.V.M.
A true Virginia Beach native, Dr. Chris graduated from Cox High School, University of Virginia (undergrad), and Virginia Tech, where he received his D.V.M. He has been a veterinarian at Acredale since 2006. His professional interests include histology, oncology, diagnostic ultrasound, and internal medicine. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Chris enjoys spending time with his fiancee, Trista and their three dogs, William and Luna, both mixed breeds, and Jones, a toy poodle. During the summer, he can usually be found on the beach or in the water, where he enjoys windsurfing, surfing, scuba diving, and kayaking.
Sharon Schrama, D.V.M
Dr. Schrama is a transplanted Canadian from Orillia, Ontario, who moved to Virginia after 15 years in the Caribbean. During her years on the island of St. Vincent , she helped create and operate an eco-resort with her husband, Charles. Her love of animals took her to Grenada where she earned her D.V.M. at St. George's University. Dr. Schrama came to Acredale in 2007. She and Charles live on the Eastern shore with a Georgian pitbull, Tarou and a Vincentian cat, Squeek. Adventure travel, diving, kayaking, ceramic sculpture and painting fill her schedule when not at Acredale with all the furry wonders.
Kara Woody, D.V.M.
Dr. Woody was born and raised in Northeast Tennessee. She received her bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Berry College and her veterinary degree from the University of Tennessee. She then completed an internship focused on internal and emergency medicine at Greenbrier Veterinary Referral Center in Chesapeake. She started her career at Acredale in 2007. Her husband, Jeremy, a Naval officer, was then transferred to California where Dr. Woody continued practicing small animal medicine. In the summer of 2010, Dr. Woody was thrilled to return to Hampton Roads and resume practicing at Acredale. Her professional interests include diagnostic ultrasound and internal medicine. Dr. Woody lives in Great Bridge with Jeremy, a daughter, Anna, and two cats. In her free time she enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and watching her daughter learn and discover new things.
Cristi Salmon, D.V.M.
Dr. Salmon was born and raised in Blacksburg, Virginia. She attended Virginia Tech and received her B.S. in Animal Science in 1998. She then spent several years in Texas managing an equine breeding and training facility. Dr. Salmon returned home to Blacksburg and received her veterinary degree from Virginia Tech in 2005. Returning back to Texas, she spent several years practicing equine medicine. She has been a veterinarian at Acredale since June 2009. Dr. Salmon and her husband Pat, a Norfolk police officer, live on a farm in North Carolina with a Rottweiler, German Shepherd, Australian Shepherd, one cat, and five horses. Dr. Salmon loves spending time with her family, pets, and working around the farm.
Michelle Hoffman, D.V.M.
Dr. Hoffman graduated from Purdue University in 2003 with her veterinary degree and loves practicing small animal medicine. Originally from Canada, she has been residing in the United States for 17 years and recently became a U.S. citizen. Dr. Hoffman has been at Acredale since March of 2010. Her husband, Freddy, is a senior master sargeant in the Air Force. Lil Roze, a 2-year-old white German shepherd, is the highlight of their lives. Dr. Hoffman's interests include horseback riding, reading, hiking, and watching movies. |
