Read What Our Clients Say

  • "I’ve been taking my Dachshund to Acredale Animal Hospital for the last several years and have had nothing short of a pleasurable experience each and every time. Between normal check ups and even the “scary” visits, the staff has been completely accommodating, understanding, and just over all wonderful. Thank you so much to all of the staff, from the front counter to the docs. We appreciate you and your service to our babies!!"
    Amber B.
  • "I love this vet.. I have been taking my animals here since i was in high school and my mom takes her dogs here to.. One of my dogs has a heart problem and their vet works with me explains everything and know how we have hardships.. They do care about the animals.. When my beloved princess had to be put down they were amazing.. I only take my animals here n they see Dr. Courtney. I love her.... So do they"
    Jacqueline S.
  • "Not enough room to write how great Dr. Alex and staff at both locations are. An amazing, caring group of people. When you bring your fur babies in you know they are treated with the best of care. Our Amber loves all the loving she gets and her nervousness disappears after the first hug or kiss. We recommend ACREDALE to anyone who asked about a good vet service. What can I say THEY ROCK!!"
    Brenda W.
  • "Dr. Gershon was wonderful, she showed interest in my dog health, suggested appropriate care and was able to ease my concerns. She followed up with phone calls and details for the procedures. Dr. Meador performed the procedures and follow up with a phone call reassuring me my pet was ok. The reception area was very busy, but the receptionists were professional and efficient. Everybody was wonderful! Thank you"
    Nadia G.
  • "My 13 yo pup has an unusual health issue that well over a dozen vets and specialists have not been able to diagnose. After hearing so many wonderful things about Acredale, thought I would see if they had an opinion. The first visit went extremely well. On the follow up appointment, we were
welcomed as if we had been a patient for years. The attending vet had the senior vet as well as another examine him in the same visit. I could go on and on about how wonderful our experience was, but will summarize by saying
we left there feeling more resolve and satisfaction than we have in 8 years and 13 other vets and specialist."
    Terri Q.
  • "We rescued a small kitten that had been hit on a busy highway. It was scared and disoriented. The staff at Acredale immediately took it back to perform triage. Fortunately it was just grazed. They kept the kitten overnight for observation and we picked him up yesterday to come live in his forever home. Everyone at Acredale was kind and informative. I wouldn’t take my pets any other place. Fantastic staff. Fantastic service. Top notch medical professionals."
    Joel S.
  • "Everyone, from the front desk staff to the vet techs to the vet was extremely helpful, informative, and friendly. My dog is a rescue and very skittish around people and when the vet noticed this, she got down on the floor with him so he would be more at ease. She made sure I was comfortable and understood he meds he had to take and next steps. Love this place!"
  • "I have great respect for Dr. Kenny and value his knowledge. He does a wonderful job taking care of my dogs."
    Kay S.
  • "I was very pleased, as usual, with the service we received at Acredale. Dr. Gershon took plenty of time with my 12-year-old Lab to access his health and address the several issues I brought up. I've taken my three dogs to Acredale for 12 years and have always been impressed by their genuine care and competency, evidenced most recently by their move to provide 24-hour emergency care for our dearly loved animals."
    Julie B.
  • "Vanessa (Selger) was outstanding! Very attentative and genuine to our pets needs and spent the time to make sure we understood all of our options"
    Nick H.
  • "Dr. Giles was nothing short of amazing. She was thorough and took her time in finding out why my babies were sick. It was a high stress and emotional situation, and she was comforting. I cannot thank her enough!"
    Katherine W.
  • "We love Acredale & Dr. Danielson!! We have been bringing out pet here for over 10 years and are always pleased with the service & staff!"
    Ashleigh M.
  • "It was Rocky's time for his annual exam ("anal exam" too!), Rabies vaccination and other "things." Dr. Courtney Evans came "armed" with the chicken flavored baby food jar & was an instant hit with Rocky! She had him in the palm of her hand (with me holding on too!) and it was an overall non-traumatic experience for him."
    Carolyn K.
  • "All of the people at Acredale are friendly, courteous, and professional. We use Acredale also because of their support of rescue organizations. We have adopted Golden Retrievers twice from SEVAGRREAT, the Southeast Virginia Golden Retriever organization. Acredale has done so much for our pets - we will always use their services for grooming and medical."
    John O.
  • "We love Dr. Danielson! Peppermint did great!"

  • "As always it was a great experience from the very first exciting hello on walking in the door, to the offer's of help with my dog because I am disabled. Staff and doctor all friendly and took time to go out of their way to be sure I understood the directions and the needs of my new puppy.
Love Acredale, although it is not close to home I chose it over 4 that were closer because of the professional staff, the fun and the love that they show to the Pet's and their parents."
    Alma J.

  • "Dr Compton was outstanding with Cynder. His calm demeanor put us both at ease. He answered all of my questions and encouraged me to call anytime if I had further questions. As well, he always returns my calls within a relatively short amount of time. I am very pleased as I have been for the last 12-13 yrs."
    Bryn S.
  • "Dr Evans is tremendous.. you could never find a better Vet anywhere!!!"
    Milton F.
  • "I was extremely nervous about finding a new vet in Virginia. I had been with the same vet in my hometown since I started working for him 9 years ago. He is a one doctor office with 2-3 vet techs and his wife is the manager/receptionist. I was so nervous I wouldn’t find that in a new vet. Then Acredale Animal Hospital was recommended to me and my boyfriend. We went to the Great Bridge location and I was beyond impressed! The staff all love my puppy and my puppy loves the staff! They have made us feel like a part of their family! My little boy looks forward to his visits and that makes me a happy mom!"
    Caitlin B.
  • "Dr Edwards and the staff that work there are wonderful!!!! They always take the extra time to make sure my dog is comfortable with them. I truly appreciate the compassion that they have for him. It warms my heart"
  • "Thank you for taking care of Earnie and his urgent urinary blockage problem. I was glad that he could be seen quickly and get a plan in place. Everyone was great and kept us informed. No one wants a sick puppy, but it’s reassuring that great care AND great service is just down the street! Thanks"
    Elinda B.
  • "I am really grateful that Acredale is open 24 hours. It provides a affordable alternative for emergency care. I take all my pets here and our favorite vet is Dr. Compton. He never rushes and he truly cares about the wellbeing of the animals. The front office staff is always patient and professional even when the lobby is chaos. I will never take my pets anywhere else."
    Bethany I.

  • "So glad they opened the Chesapeake office. I travel a little further to get there, but there is very seldom any other dogs there (seeing other dogs is an issue for one of my dogs). We can walk right in and be taken with little to no waiting. My dog has a crush on Dr. Meador. She has been so helpful to
me over the years. I love her too!"
    Denise A.
  • "From the beginning of our visit to our exam with Dr. Elliot, as usual was excellent. Treated very quickly and very professionally by front desk staff.

As far as Dr. Elliot goes, he interacted with Brandy beautifully and very caring. He was very gentle with her. He was also very very thorough and had some good ideas as far as her pain went.

These are just some of the reasons why I’ve been coming here so long and plan to keep coming for a long time in the future."
    Bryn S.
  • "We love bringing our pets to Acredale! Dr. Meador is wonderful with them. In addition, she is an extremely knowledgeable resource and always provides answers to any questions that I may have. She puts our pets at ease and
they enjoy coming to see her! I couldn’t ask for a better Veterinarian."
