Latest Diagnostic Imaging Technology

Proud to Offer :

  • Digital Radiography
  • Digital Dental Radiography
  • Contrast Studies
  • Ultrasound

All our radiographs and ultrasound images are evaluated in-house. In some cases, we also send the images to a board certified radiologist for further review.  If your pet needs a CT scan or MRI, we work closely with specialty referral practices to ensure your pet receives the diagnostic imaging service needed.

Veterinary Digital Radiography (X-rays)

Digital X-rays provide exceptional detail and allow our veterinarians to capture images of your pet’s bones and internal organs. We may recommend an X-ray for evaluating an injury or lameness, evaluating a cough, looking for an object your pet may have swallowed, and several other indications.

Veterinary Digital Dental Radiography (X-rays)

Dental radiography allows our veterinarians to evaluate problems that may be present under the gum line in your pet’s mouth, such as tooth a root abscess or resorptive lesion. Digital dental radiography is preferred due to a 75% reduction in the amount of radiation used and the ability to enlarge and enhance images. Our digital service also allows us to acquire a full mouth series quickly, reducing the amount of time your pet is under anesthesia.

Contrast Studies

Our veterinarians can administer barium and other contrast agents to help highlight various conditions. This is most often used to help detect a toy or other foreign object your pet may have swallowed, but may also be used to detect a tumor or bladder stone.

Veterinary Ultrasound

Ultrasound is an imaging technique using sound waves and an ultrasound transducer to create a moving image on a monitor. Our veterinarians use ultrasound to evaluate the texture of abdominal organs, the functioning of the heart, and to diagnose and monitor pregnancy. Ultrasound is also often used to help guide biopsies of suspicious masses.
